These little surprises containing mackerel fillets with mixed vegetables in pastry, make the perfect picnic treat.

- 125g can John West Mackerel Fillets in Brine, drained & flaked
- 420g can Edgell Mixed Vegetables, drained
- ½ teaspoon dried dill
- 3 sheets puff pastry, partially thawed
- 1 small egg, lightly beaten
Combine John West Mackerel Fillets, Edgell Mixed Vegetables and dill in a large bowl and season to taste.
Cut 4 rounds from each sheet of pastry using a 10-12cm round cutter. Place a spoonful of mixture in the center of each round, fold over and pinch edges together to seal.
Place on a baking paper lined tray and lightly brush with egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 220ºC for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
Cut larger rounds of pastry to make individual sized pasties. Add ½ cup grated tasty cheese to vegetable mixture.
