Apple & Passionfruit Crumble


Tangy apple and passionfruit topped with a crunchy almond crumble

Serves: 4


  • 6 granny smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 170g can John West Passionfruit Pulp in Syrup
  • 1 cup whipped cream for serving
  • Topping:
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • 60g butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup slivered almonds


Step 1

Place apples into a saucepan with sugar and lemon rind, cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Reserve 2 tablespoons John West Passionfruit, stir remainder into cooked apples. Spoon apple mixture into 4 x 1 cup pots.

Step 2

Sift flour into a bowl, rub in butter and add sugar. Spoon topping mixture over apple and sprinkle with almonds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 20 minutes. Add reserved passionfruit to cream and serve with apple and passionfruit crumble.

Tasty Tip!

Crumble can be cooked in a 20cm ovenproof dish. Delicious hot or cold.
